How does Strike compare to Purplebricks?

Every estate agent works a little differently. We've looked at Strike vs. Purplebricks to see how they line up — so you can make the right decision for you.

Strike vs. Purplebricks

Choosing an estate agent is an important decision — and it's the first step toward selling your home. Your estate agent will be with you through the entire sales process, so it's probably the single biggest decision you'll make when selling. And there are a lot of estate agents out there — which means a lot of choice. But they all work a little differently. There are different approaches, different values, and different fees involved (or in our case, no fee at all).

At the end of the day, you need to make the right decision for you. So we've looked at how Purplebricks compares to Strike, so you can see how we both work and what's included, to help you find the right fit. Let's start with the core services.

The core service

When you look at the two side-by-side, there are some big overlaps between Strike and Purplebricks. You can get free valuations, photos, an app — and, because they're both online estate agents, there are no expensive overheads. That's good news for customers.

But there are also some pretty major differences, especially when it comes to price.

The most obvious difference is that with Strike, we'll always sell your home for free. With Purplebricks, you'll pay to list whether they sell your home or not. They do have a "pay later" option, so you might not be paying the moment you list your home — but you will have to pay within 10 months, even if your home doesn't sell.

Purplebricks also has different prices for different locations — so you'll be paying more if you live in London and the surrounding areas.

The premium extras

Both Purplebricks and Yopa offer upgrades if you want optional extras — again, there some similarities and some differences. With either, you'll find hosted viewings and premium listings, which are great ways to boost your sale.

With Purplebricks, these are extras that you add on to the core service price — and with Strike, there is no core service price. Strike's "Ultimate Package" gives you both hosted viewings and the premium listing, for a hefty discount — as well as a video trailer. (Just want the hosted viewings? Just want the premium listing? We can do either.)

Again, with Purplebricks the pricing is based on where you live — you'll always pay, but you'll pay more in and around London.

Do a little research, have a few valuations done, and pick the agency — and service — that's right for you."

Ultimately, it's your choice. There are some big overlaps between Purplebricks and Strike — but there are some pretty important differences, too. Price is a big one. With Strike, we'll always sell your home for free. With Purplebricks, you'll pay to list whether they sell your home or not.

But we know it's not all about price. Choosing an estate agent is a big decision — and it's a personal one. It's not just about who ticks the right boxes, it's bigger than that.

You're choosing to trust someone with your most valuable asset. It's your home, after all.

So you need to make sure that you feel comfortable and confident. You need to feel like their values are going to line up with yours. At Strike, that means honesty and transparency — and putting you in control of your home sale.

Don't be afraid to take your time. Do a little research, have a few valuations done and pick the agency — and service — that's right for you. We think that offering you a fully-managed service for free is the best way forward, but you may see things differently. It's your money, it's your choice.

Need a little help? We've made a list of questions you should ask a potential estate agent, which should help you get a feel for what it would be like to work with them. And if you have any more questions, feel free to reach out — that's what we're here for.
