Liverpool is great for both younger buyers, because of the infamous nightlight and popping gastronomic scene, and those looking for a quieter life. It offers both urban buzz and countryside idyll, with great job opportunities and schools for kids.

There's no right answer to this! It totally depends on what you want from your property - it's worth thinking about the qualities you value in a home before you move. Do you want to be close to good schools? Then somewhere like Crosby, Woolton Village or Aigburth could be good areas outside of the city centre. Do you want to be in a busy urban area? The Baltic Triangle in the city centre or Lark Lane, just outside, both have a fun, young atmosphere with good pubs, bars and restaurants. If you want to be super close to the city centre, but feel like you're in the countryside then West Derby is the place for you. Basically, work out what you want and Liverpool will probably have somewhere that suits your needs and budget.
It's really hard to tell what the property market is going to do in the coming months and years. Houses in Liverpool have gone up by 1% in the last year, and have generally been increasing more than the national average in the last 5 years, at a 33% increase according to the Land Registry. Only time will tell on that one.
Liverpool is one of the most affordable places to buy a house in the UK, sitting way below the market average. In a list published by Halifax in 2021, Liverpool was listed as the 13th most affordable place to live in the UK.
Liverpool's house prices have generally been increasing, meaning buying and selling has historically been a great idea. However the property market is quite unstable at the moment, mainly because it's so difficult to get a mortgage. Liverpool is definitely a brilliant place to find a buy-to-let property because house prices are low and rent is high, with high demands for properties particularly in the centre of the city. There are also lots of new build flats with guaranteed buy-to-let yields, which makes the whole process easier.
Whilst some happiness statistics show Liverpool to be ranked slightly below the national average, there are high levels of satisfaction with schools and the University. Plus, the Liverpool FC fans have been named the happiest in the Premier League! Because Liverpool is such a varied place it means it ticks a lot of boxes for an array of different people - from city lovers, to country bumpkins, commuter types and musicians.
Formby in Liverpool is a famous celebrity haunt, particularly Victoria Road. Other areas that have higher levels of wealth, good schools, developed spaces and access to parks or rural areas include Woolton, Aigburth and Allerton.
