Liverpool waterfront
L14 is an area of Liverpool that includes Dovecot, Broad Green, Knotty Ash, Swanside and Fincham and is 7 km east of the city centre.
L14 is a good option for families. The areas in this part of Liverpool are pretty affordable, and the high proportion of sales in terraced and semi-detached houses indicates that the population of movers are probably families. Because of the excellent health care in the area, often healthcare workers choose to live here with their families because of the proximity to hospitals and surgeries, and good quality of life for their children and partners. It's also easy to get into town from L14, making it good for those wanting to commute.
L14 is a prime spot for older people because it is contained, affordable, has good transport links for visiting family and friends, and great healthcare. Not only are the hospitals famous, but there are also retirement homes and assisted living facilities in the area for when you or a family member may need some extra care.
L14 has good access to the “ralla” which is a nice cycle and walking path. Whilst L14 may not be the beating heart of Liverpool in terms of activities, you're not far from a great array of things to do. Croxteth Hall is a great day out, as is the Knowsley Safari just beyond L14. Also, it's very easy to get into the centre of Liverpool for a day of shopping, pub hopping or gallery dates. You could even be at Anfield to watch a game in around 10-15 mins.
The “ralla” or “The Loop Line” is a fond nickname for the walking path made out next to an abandoned railway line in Merseyside. It is a 10 mile stretch, great for walkers and cyclists.
L14 is an affordable suburb of Liverpool. The properties sold are mainly terraced or semi-detached, which is indicative of the popularity of this area with families. Whilst some nearby towns such as West Derby are perhaps more traditionally picturesque, L14 has easy access to both inner city and countryside living, making it work for families and older people in particular.
