What to expect at your virtual valuation.
A valuation is the first step in your selling journey — and although it may sound a little formal and intimidating, with Strike it’s anything but. Plus we're experts in virtual valuations, so let us talk you through it.
A property valuation is when an agent gives you a sense of the market value of your property — how much your home is worth. It’s also a chance for you to get to know us a little bit and ask any questions you might have. A lot of valuations take place over video chat — this is often called a "virtual valuation", but really it just means a valuation taking place on a video call. We normally use Zoom, which is easy to download and use, but we can talk you through your options. Feel a little nervous about video calls? Don't worry, that's what we're here for.
How should I get ready for a virtual valuation?
Chances are you already have everything you need for a virtual valuation — you can do it through a phone, tablet, or laptop. You get ready for a virtual valuation in the same way you would get ready for an in-person one — there's not much for you to do, just make sure your home is clean and tidy so we can have a good look around. That also means having lights on and blinds open, just to make sure we're able to see everything properly. One thing you may want to keep in mind is your wifi connection. Having a strong connection — and a fully charged device — makes things run a lot more smoothly.
Of course, there may be limitations to the wifi you have available — if this is the case, try to make sure as few devices are using the internet as possible. And if there are a few glitches, don't worry! We've seen them before and we'll be there to talk you through it. If you have any questions about video calls before the valuation, just reach out. Even though it takes place on a video call, it's really just a chance to look around your home and have a chat, with no stress or pushy selling. In fact, there’s nothing for you to worry about. Just make sure that your home is tidy so we can see all of its features — and any information you have about the structure of the building or the appliances doesn’t hurt.
What happens after my virtual valuation?
After the virtual valuation, we'll follow up with you to see if you think if it's a good fit. If you do want to list with Strike, we can have you online in as few as 24 hours. Then we'll be by your side for the entire process. You'll have a Strike agent to help with everything, including negotiations — to help you take the stress out of moving. That’s it!
